Accepted Students Day – Lab Tours

On April 14th, 2012, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute hosted students that have been accepted into RPI for the next academic year and their parents.  Throughout the day, they were welcomed by the President Shirley Jackson and were given campus tours to different departments and laboratiories so that they can glimpse of what RPI has to offer from an academic stand point.

Approximately around 50 students and their parents have come to visit the Centrifuge Lab at the Jonsson Engineering Center.  Victoria Bennett, with the help of a few current students and staff, gave walking tours of the lab where they showed the centrifuge and other equipment and talked about what we do here at the Center for Earthquake Engineering Simulation in terms of projects, current and past.

Also, the mini-centrifuge model that we use for demonstration purposes was brought to the DCC building where other departments showcased their equipment and posters for visitors to look at.

A lot more could have been cut with little writemypaper4me.org damage, and, as it is, its going to have to be spread fairly thin to cover twelve hours of viewing time!
