Quake Summit 2013 – Showcase

On August 7th, RPI participated in the Annual Quake Summit that was held in Reno, Nevada this year at the University of Reno.  Some of the 14 NEES sites have showcased their equipment/displays/posters.  A showcase of mini-centrifuge in-flight has been displayed and Summit participants (students, researchers, professors) have had an opportunity to see the centrifuge

STEM – SEMI High Tech U Camp 2013

On July 23rd, 2013, Geotechnical Centrifuge Lab opened its door for tour and presentation to about 10 students (four females) that were interested in visiting the lab space.  These students are part of the group of high school students that participated in the STEM program here at RPI.  Presentation about the lab, demo of mini-centrifuge

PREFACE 2013

On July 12th,  approximately 20 of high school students attended our annual PREFACE Program lab tour.  A mixed group of boys and girls of different  ethnicity were given a presentation of civil engineering and given a tour of the  geotechnical centrifuge lab and a demonstration of the liquefaction effect by using the mini shake table.
