On April 25th, 2012, Center for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (CEES) of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute hosted a Cnetrifuge Lab tour for 9 retired Alumni. This group is a part of a Hudson-Mohawk Retirees Chapter, which members have graduated from RPI and from the industry. According to their chapter website, the group tours six sites of interest around the Capital District each year, three in the spring and three in the fall, and holds a planning meeting each year in February or March.
Group members that participated are:
Donald Bunk ’55, Frank Du Bois ’56, Asa Kaplan ’59, Harry Lindner ’57, Wes Moody ’56, Malcolm Muir ’64, and Stephen Ruggles ’54.
During their visit, they were able to hear a short presentation on what kind of research the Centrifuge Lab does, look at the centrifuge and other equipment, and to see a demonstration of a mini-centrifuge in-flight.
